#LegacyIs Sharing Without Shame

#LegacyIs Sharing Without Shame
December 13, 2017 Lauren Fowler

I remember having my first severe panic attack at just four years old in the middle of my daycare class. I had never felt so alone in my life. Growing up, no one spoke about mental illness. I was ashamed and embarrassed to speak about my anxiety disorders, even after they were diagnosed. Now, even when it’s hard, I do everything I can to speak openly and honestly about living with anxiety in hopes that no one will ever feel the way I did. It’s an amazing feeling when someone comes to you and says that your words helped them feel less alone.
